Data DescriptionJPSS ATMS TDR Reprocessed (RPATMSTDR) - The Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) is a cross-track microwave sounder providing atmospheric temperature and moisture observations for weather and climate applications. A Temperature Data Record (TDR) includes geolocated antenna temperatures, calibration data counts, and ephemeris data produced from Raw Data Records. This data family includes a single reprocessed ATMS TDR from Suomi NPP. The reprocessing generated a consistent Level-1 TDR using unified and consistent calibration algorithms that removed artificial jumps in data caused by operational changes, instrument anomalies, contamination from anomaly views of the environment or spacecraft, and other causes. The reprocessed TDR was compared with and validated against other observations whenever such data were available. This data family includes two reprocessed data versions (RP1 and RP2). The ATMS TDR is used as input to produce ATMS Sensor Data Records (SDR). Reprocessed ATMS TDR data obtained from the NOAA Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) are distributed as aggregated 8 minute files consisting of 15 granules in the Hierarchical Data Format v.5 (HDF5) with metadata attributes included. See the 'Details - Metadata, Documentation' section below for additional information. Collection landing pages for the products included in this family can be accessed via the "Product Details" link. Details - Metadata, DocumentationNotes(01/31/2022) - To access the more recent data please go to the ATMS_TDR products search page. The operational data (post 10/15/2019) uses the latest version of the reprocessing algorithm. (01/31/2022) - The Reprocessed ATMS data is now available to the public starting on 01/31/2022.
